- JG: Testing shows that we get a small performance benefit from using upstream DPDK versus the current Contrail DPDK.
- PS: Still looking for performance improvements.
- PS: Does it make sense to switch to the upstream? We would need to include the CI team. There are a number of challenges that would need to be accounted for.
- YM/PS: There will be some gaps as Contrail DPDK has some patches. Will need to work through test coverage with CI team.
- AP: From the point of CI, TF CI is running in a Vexxhost OpenStack provided (VMs not bare metal). Is it possible to run DPDK on these VMs?
- PS: This is an open question that needs to be addressed (needs to be tested). We also need to understand if the CI is able to take on this test coverage.
