Operator Framework

  • Prabhjot Singh Sethi CRDs currently have too many dependencies.
  • Juniper has also put a lot of work into this.  Need to set guidelines for inbound projects and code review to meet IPR.
    • Sukhdev Kapur Juniper has no desire to have fork or proprietary solution.  We would like to focus on an upstream version of the code.
    • Need API review.
    • Sukhdev Kapur & Prabhjot Singh Sethi to work together to set the scope and initial set of committers of the project and present to the TSC for approval.

Upstream DPDK

  • Sukhdev Kapur Juniper is working on shifting to working in the upstream community but may need advice and support.  Please provide your feedback to the team.

Infrastructure Meeting

  • Casey Caintalked about the participation of the Infra meeting
    • It was agreed that the Infra meeting will continue as currently scheduled
    • Jared Linley Casey Cain Daniel Pono Takamori Marek Chwal will meet to discuss updating JIRA to better support the community
      • Will focus on Projects, Project Catagories, Issue types, workflows and custom fields

Action items

  • Casey Cainto send a Doodle poll to set up a regular series of meeting for the Operator Framework discussion  
  • Jared Linley to open a ticket on support.linuxfoundation.org to get permissions to the TF JIRA to help develop better workflows and issue types.

    Jared Linley Casey Cain Daniel Pono Takamori Marek Chwal will meet to discuss updating JIRA to better support the community
    Months ago the TSC agreed to move from Jira to GitHub issues as the repos transition over from Gerrit to GitHub.

    Spending time updating Jira now will be wasted time as the work will simply be wiped out with that transition.

    The time would be better spent analysing the existing Jira workflow, discovering holes and snags, developing a new workflow, and applying it to GitHub issues.
